WikiAccessPolicy
A bit of info about the wiki access. Given the numerous defacing we had on the wiki, I decided in early January 2005 to change a little the way people are allowed to edit the wiki pages. There is a special page, (PariscGroup) that contains the wiki names of the registered users allowed to edit the wiki. Any user listed on that page can both see and edit it, and create/change any other page. Registered users (ie: users who have created a wiki account by clicking the UserPreferences link) can see the content of the PariscGroup page. By default, users can't either see that page, nor change or create any other page.
In brief, there's now a two-step way to change the wiki:

Register an account: click on UserPreferences

Get your name added to the the PariscGroup page by somebody already 'editor'. (I guess that simply posting on the

mailing-list may get you through that step, if you don't know who to ask for).
I'm sad to have to narrow the wiki access, but this is the only simple and efficient solution I've been able to figure out to get rid of the spammers.
